Planning Commission Hearing

Held: May 2, 2023

At a regular meeting of the Planning Commission, held May 2, 2023, the Planning Commission discussed the Housing Element and Public Health, Safety, and Noise Element Updates and recommended that the City Council adopt the updated Elements.

Community Workshop #3

On March 16, 2022, the City held a Community Workshop on the Housing Element Update and Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing in St. Helena. A video of the event can be viewed below. 

What is Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH)?

Affirmatively furthering fair housing means taking meaningful actions that, taken together, address significant disparities in housing needs and in access to opportunity, replacing segregated living patterns with truly integrated and balanced living patterns, transforming racially and ethnically concentrated areas of poverty into areas of opportunity, and fostering and maintaining compliance with civil rights and fair housing laws.

The duty to affirmatively further fair housing extends to all of the City's activities and programs relating to housing and community development. Join us at the workshop to learn more.
